Spring Retreat
Join us on May 18, 2025 for a spring half-day retreat, (9 am – 1pm) at The Massachusetts Audubon Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary has several distinct yet intertwining trails making it a great location for a half day retreat. Ponds, streams, marshes and a seasonal waterfall can be seen along the Mill Pond/Marsh Trail where you may catch glimpses of mink or muskrat on the pond’s edge or a Lady-Slipper Orchid on the forest floor. Along the Indian Brook Trail you pass through open fields that drop down to a vernal pond. The Boundary Trail has mature trees, Hemlocks, Pines and Oaks, that attract Great Horned Owls, Blue Herons and Wood Ducks to the pond nestled beneath their branches. These are just a few of the trails and sights to be seen, heard, felt and smelled and that invite us to reconnect not only to the beauty of the natural world but also to the wisdom it offers.
Slow down, breathe, simply be.
What to expect:
We will gather indoors for an orientation and settling in practice then begin our morning of walking, sitting, laying down and meandering practices.
Each practice is designed to support the deepening of our awareness of the natural world and our place within it. This cultivation of a natural, mindful attention can help open our hearts to delight, wisdom and awe.
Plan to be outside for the entire retreat. Should the weather be inclement we will have access continuous access to an indoor space.
I will contact all registered participants the night before to update everyone on weather conditions and make suggestions for appropriate dress. Please bring a bag lunch and water and any snacks you would like to have on hand.
