Mindfulness, Compassion & Resiliency Intersecting with Women in Science

This is a commissioned 2 hour nature-based mindfulness workshop at the Arnold Arboretum for MASS AWIS.

MASS AWIS is the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association for Women in Science. (AWIS), a non-profit organization hose mission is to support women in all scientific fields and to achieve equity and full participation for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). By breaking down barriers and creating opportunities, AWIS strives to ensure that women in these fields can achieve their full potential. They organize events to create stronger bonds within their community as well as to improve skill sets collectively either for academia or industry in diverse fields.

Given that May 12 is also Mother's Day this event encourages participants to bring their mothers or those by whom they have felt mothered to join them. The workshop will be held under the Linden trees and among the lilacs ensuring plenty of opportunity to enliven our senses and open to the wonders and awe of nature and the liveliness that lies within each of us.
