Cycle of Life Series - September

  • Broadmoor Massachusetts Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary 280 Eliot Street Natick, MA, 01760 United States (map)

This Cycles of Life Series will meet monthly, Sunday mornings, at the Broadmoor Massachusetts Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, Ma.

Walking the same land and practicing in familiar sit spots offers the opportunity to become intimately attuned to how a particular environment changes with the cycles of seasons. We will experience the shifts in light and shadow, the migration of birds and the life spans of insects, plant life. We may be curious to notice the responsiveness of our own inner landscape to that through which we traverse and rest.

Each month we will begin our walk at the Sanctuary Center and follow the path along the pond, continue through forest, meadow and even riverside. Though the intention is to follow the same route monthly, we will adapt according to the weather and conditions of the trails.

This series is being offered in conjunction with the Boston Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. No prior registration is necessary but please arrive by 8:30 am for in-person registration with the AMC and to complete their liability waivers. You may also fill out the contact information form on this website to alert me to your attendance or reach me by email if you have questions.

How to prepare: Please dress according to the weather and bring a day pack for snacks and water or any extra clothing, sunscreen, bug spray etc. The trails are uneven with many roots and rocks so proper footwear is essential. You may also wish to bring a lightweight yoga mat or meditation cushion that can fit in you day pack or be strapped to it.
